Browne Full Service Community School
E/BFSC has been working with Browne Educational Center to build a Full Service Community School program that extends beyond the school to leverage services and programs that address a wide range of student needs that impact academic achievement. These programs include but are not limited to truancy reduction, violence prevention, unsupervised time outside of school, child abuse, homelessness, and other social issues that have become all too common for many children in today's society. E/BFSC has integrated its family preservation and support programs in the school by providing intensive attendance monitoring and family based services to youth and families of students. Recently, E/BFSC supported Associates for Renewal in Education’s (ARE) application to operate a 21st Century Community Learning Center (21stCCLC) at Browne, which will serve 150 youth from grades 3-8. The 21stCCLC will provide students with a safe, structured, and stimulating environment in which to enhance their academic achievement, develop additional skills in various extracurricular activities, and strengthen their families through access to family support services.
